Year 13 Maths Course Description

The Year 13 Maths course focuses on advanced pure mathematics and applied topics that prepare students for A Level examinations and higher education. Students move beyond basic methods and learn how to solve multi-step, exam-style problems with precision.

Our Year 13 online tutoring at MathsAlpha supports students by:

Fees and Payments

  • First lesson is Free!. The fee is £70 per 2-hour weekly session.
  • If a student could not attend a session, a recorded lesson and lesson notes will be provided to them. The fee is not refundable.
  • If a student wants to discontinue the lessons, the fees which were paid for the remainder of the month will be refunded.
  • If a student discontinues the lessons, the fees paid for the remaining part of the month will be refunded.
  • Payment method will be detailed in an email at the enrolment, and monthly invoices will be sent

  • Functions and Graphs – Covers modulus functions, composite and inverse functions, and combining multiple graph transformations.
  • Sequences and Series – Explores arithmetic and geometric sequences, sigma notation, recurrence relations, and modelling with series.
  • Binomial Expansion – Extends binomial expansion to fractional and negative powers with approximation techniques.
  • Radians – Introduces radian measure, arc length, sector areas, small angle approximations, and trig equations.
  • Trigonometric Functions – Covers secant, cosecant, cotangent functions, their graphs, identities, and inverse trigonometric functions.
  • Trigonometry and Modelling – Focuses on compound angle formulae, double-angle identities, equation solving, and real-life modelling.
  • Parametric Equations – Studies parametric curves, curve sketching, intersections, and modelling using parametric equations.
  • Differentiation – Extends differentiation to trigonometric, exponential, and logarithmic functions, and rates of change.
  • Numerical Methods – Introduces iterative methods, locating roots, the Newton Raphson method, and modelling applications.
  • Integration – Covers advanced integration techniques, including substitution, integration by parts, partial fractions, and areas.
  • Vectors – Develops 3D vectors, vector equations, geometric problem solving, and applications to mechanics.
  • Statistical Distributions – Covers probability distributions, including binomial distribution and cumulative probabilities.
  • Hypothesis Testing – Focuses on critical values, one-tailed and two-tailed tests, and interpreting statistical results.
